As the saying goes, there is plenty to see and to do at the zoo. As the weather warms up, it’s time to get out the house and explore some of the wonderful outdoor attractions in and around Atlanta. If you are visiting or new to the city, don’t miss stopping by the zoo. Your children will love the experience, and you will appreciate seeing the variety of animals that the zoo has to offer.

The Zoo Atlanta is open every day except for Christmas and Thanksgiving. The zoo is open from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., but the ticket booths close at 4:30 p.m.

Atlanta’s famous baby panda Mei Lin turns one year old on September 6th and to celebrate her birthday, Zoo Atlanta will hold a birthday party at 11am that day complete with a birthday cake and snacks. Mei Lin is the Southeast’s only giant panda cub. She has been bringing hundreds of visitors to the zoo since her birth last year.

A special reception will be held the evening of September 6. Tickets for this adult event is $45 and includes beverages, hors d’oeuvres and giant panda viewing. Visit the Zoo Atlanta website for more information.
