Free Admission to the Botanical Garden
The Atlanta Botanical Garden is offering free admission on Tuesday, April 22nd. The free admission to the Atlanta Botanical Garden will help celebrate the 38th Annual Earth Day. The free day is made possible through a partnership by the Atlanta Botanical Gardens and Lexus dealers in the Atlanta area. There will also be a series of children’s events held in the Atlanta Botanical Gardens while flowers are in peak bloom.
From 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Songs and Stories with Julie Austin will take place in the Children’s Garden Amphitheater. This is an interactive show, targeted to younger children. For older children and adults, there are one-hour presentations:
- 1 p.m., African Forest Conservation by Atlanta Botanical Garden, Conservatory Manager, Paul Blackmore
- 3 p.m., Sustainable Livelihoods, Sustainable Planet by Earth University
- 7 p.m., Battling the Global Amphibian Crisis by Amphibian Specialist Robert Hill.
I haven’t visited the Atlanta Botanical Garden during its peak, so I can’t wait to visit! I do remember visiting when the rose gardens were in bloom and that was spectacular. The last time that I visited, I went too early in the season (I couldn’t wait) so most of the flowers were not even blooming yet. I still had a great time, though and learned a lot about the plants in the Atlanta Botanical Gardens. Every time I go there, I learn something new!
The Atlanta Botanical Garden is located at 1345 Piedmont Drive in Midtown. It is between 14th Street and Monroe. The gardens are open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is normally $12 for adults, $9 for seniors and children 3-17. Children who are under 3 years old or are members of the Atlanta Botanical Garden are free.
