Sound, Thoughts, Ideas and Rhyme

This is a little something for people who like art and cultural events. Spend your Friday evening listening to poetry reading, dramatic presentations and singers.
You can also watch artists create original artwork live. Experience body painting or listen to a town hall discussion on Women’s Roles in Society.
If you want to get a little funky. Get on the dance floor and shake it to Chicago-Style Stepping. Of course, a D.J. will be spinning in the back.
That sounds like some evening.  They call it STIR: Sound, Thoughts, Ideas and Rhyme. This Friday is the Woman’s Month Celebration.

Destruction in Atlanta

Destruction in Atlanta

There is some speculation that a tornado may have caused the damage and destruction in Atlanta on Friday night. Bad weather flooded roads and destroyed buildings within minutes. Right now, people are trying to clean up the mess and pick up the pieces.

The above home is located in Cabbage town.  The building below was in the same area. It appears that the roof caved in on that building.

Fallen branches, glass, and debris from buildings littered this road in the photo below.

Strong winds bent metal beams in the city. I believe that this was a part of a billboard or some sort …read more

The streets are badly flooded.  There is debris and glass everywhere. During the thunderstorm today on March 14,  people looked up …read more

Alicia Keys is Coming to the ATL

Alicia Keys is Coming to the ATL

Alicia Keys is performing on May 28, with tickets going on sale through TicketMaster this Friday, March 15. You won’t want to miss this performance. I had the priviledge of attending a small, intimate Alicia Keys concert a couple of years ago, and not only did Alicia blow well, but when she sang, it was like she was looking directly at her audience and feeling our emotions. I had the added bonus of having, Atlanta’s own Monica come and sit right in front of me during the performance.
