Stone Mountain Park

While visiting Mexico, I ended up in a conversation with a Mexican man who had visited Atlanta. I asked him about his favorite Atlanta destination, and he told me that he loved Stone Mountain Park. I love Stone Mountain, too and I decided to share some of my favorite images from the park.

This is a photo of a historic plantation home at Stone Mountain National Park. The homes that are on display at the park were shipped from other Georgia locations. I remember that a guide mentioned that they were essembled brick by brick, a job that I wouldn’t want to have.

I thought that the flowers surrounding this gazebo were simply beautiful. You ahve to visit in the spring or summer to get a view like this one. This photo was taken in August, by the way.

The train and the duck ride are my favorite rides at Stone Mountain Park. I like the train because there is a cute, rather cheesy show of about 10 minutes to watch when the train stops. I wouldn’t wait in a long line to ride the train, though. The ride was too short and not worth a long wait.

This is what the small town where the show takes place looks like.
