Marietta is considered part of the Atlanta metro area. Nseya Salon and Spa moved last month to its new location on Piedmont in Buckhead. Today the place was was bustling with activity. Hair stylists rushed around, dressed in all black, and it appeared as though everyone was preparing for a Hotlanta weekend. It’s a good thing that the new location has a nearby parking deck, and that Nseya validates parking. It’s also a good thing that Copeland’s New Orleans-style restaurant is literally adjacent to Nseya. Get your hair done. Treat yourself to spa services, and have lunch or dinner at Copeland’s.

You can say it with flowers, candy, or a romantic dinner for two. There are probably about a million ways to show someone your love.  I like jazz, and would appreciate listening to some mellow jazz while enjoying a romantic candle-lit dinner. Running errands or traveling with a pet in tow can be inconvenient, especially if you live in Atlanta and have to go out of town, are the city visiting or are new to the city. Luckily, I came across a helpful pet sitting company which serves the city of Atlanta and the following counties: Cobb, Cherokee, Clayton, Dekalb, Fulton and Gwinnett.

 Put a little soul in your life! The hippest,  hip hop circus around, the Universoul Circus, is coming to town.  Hmmm, wait a minute. It may be the only hip hop circus. Oh, well. Anyway, it doesn’t matter. It’s a show worth seeing. This season, the Universoul Circus presents Jabulani: Joy, Laughter and Happiness. For a long time Ray’s on the River  6700 Power Ferry Road was my favorite restaurant. I liked the lush views of the river and the live music (typically, a pianist). The ambiance is more memorable than the food, but I recall that the food was tasty.  The restaurant was refurbashed last year, and I hear that it’s even better than I remember.

A stay at the Amicalola Falls State Park and Lodge is just perfect for couples who love the great outdoors. Alternatively, if you want to keep in shape, you can go hiking in the park instead of, or in addition to a gym workout. I’m terrified of heights, but even I enjoy a nice easy hike, especially if I’m with a nice strong date. Now that’s what I call a Valentine’s surprise. The Hotel Indigo in Atlanta has a Valentine’s package which includes a stay at the hotel, breakfast, a bottle of Dom Perignon and, you won’t believe this, a 1.5 caret ring.  Yep. The ring is included.  The wedding is not included. The Proposal Package at the Hotel Indigo is available through Feb. 16. Reservations, however must be made five days in advance. Hotel Indigo is a luxury hotel located in 12 cities in the U.S.  There are apparently, 60 future locations planned.
