A Few Notable Atlanta Restaurants
For a long time Ray’s on the River 6700 Power Ferry Road was my favorite restaurant. I liked the lush views of the river and the live music (typically, a pianist). The ambiance is more memorable than the food, but I recall that the food was tasty. The restaurant was refurbashed last year, and I hear that it’s even better than I remember.

A reader chimed in that Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse has absolutely the best steak. Whenever someone mentions steak in Atlanta, someone usually gives Ruth Chris’ Steakhouse a plug.
Now I have got to mention Pano’s and Paul’s
which has been in Atlanta since 1979. Pano’s &
Paul’s is consistently named as one of Atlanta’s Best Traditions by
Atlanta Magazine, as well as being named receiving one of Atlanta’s Top
Romantic Dinners from Zagat Survey, an honorable mention as Atlanta
Business Chronicle’s Best Restaurant to Impress a Date, and currently Pano’s
& Paul’s is nominated for Best Aphrodisiac Restaurant on CitySearch.
Wow. I am going to have to give Pano’s a try. I’ll go with friends so that I don’t get into too much trouble.
